I literally screamed and cried when I found out about this talk, and I'm telling you this because my credibility needed to be further questioned.

Special for this month, Hama-chan and Bun-chan, who've been close since they met, have their first shoot together in a long time. It turned out to be an interview filled to the brim with their closeness.

Our wavelengths are like bibibi~. It's hard to explain in words. (laugh)

Bun: It's been a while since the two of us had a shoot together!
Hama: Though we contact each other all the time.
B: The other day in Tokyo, too, I was free so I called you. And then you said you were in Osaka or something stupid like that. (laugh)
H: It wasn't stupid! I was at home! You just happened to be in Tokyo for stage play rehearsals. (laugh) But I do think our wavelengths match to the point where when we have a bit of free time we want to contact each other.
B: Explain to everyone how our wavelengths match!
H: Our wavelengths are like bibibi~. It's hard to explain in words. (laugh) Also, I just love Bunichi-kun's sense of humor. The way you'll drop tiny bokes when no one's looking is so funny to me. Like how you'll boke through a mirror. (laugh) I can't handle that! (laugh)
B: That's true, I often do things even though it can't be seen. (laugh) I like Hama-chan's... what do I like about you? (laugh) We've always been close, so I've never thought about it. You know, I've been saying "I like Hama-chan" since you auditioned.
H: Seriously? I don't remember. It was twelve years ago.
B: I did, I did. Back then, I had the role of teaching the dances. Since that time, I've thought, "Hm, this kid's nice," and I've liked you.
H: Bunichi-kun was so kind from the start, and you always taught us so carefully. With all the other people who taught, even if there was a kid who couldn't do something, they'd just keep plowing on ahead. But with you, if there was a kid who couldn't do something, you'd take the time to teach him. So even though our tempo was slower, we remembered the dances with certainty.
B: Right. And I do think that even since then, our wavelengths have matched. We always used to make improv manzai skits and stuff, too.
H: We did, we did! During a concert, just off stage a manzai act would suddenly start.
B: One of us would start off by saying, "Well, even so~"
H: Right, right. And it'd just take shape from there. And when it was our turn, we'd stop right then and go on stage and dance. (laugh) Though noooo one watched us. (laugh) It was manzai that just the two of us enjoyed, so I have no idea if it was actually funny. (laugh)
B: No, I think it was funny. It might have been an acquired taste, but I'm confident. After all, when we laugh, most people laugh, too. (laugh)
H: Lately we've gone out to eat, but back then on our days off we'd hang out the whole time. Or rather, you came for extended stays at my house. (laugh) You went out of your way and travelled about two hours to get there. (laugh)
B: I just wanted to go to your house. Though you were doing Ahosuki at the time, so when it became Friday I'd have to go home.1 (laugh) Ah, I just remembered. There was one time you were coming down with the flu on me. On the night of the second or third day I was at your house, I was still like, "We're still going to hang out!" But on the way home from snowboarding, you were suddenly all "I'm cold. My throat hurts" and stuff. And I was like, "You'll feel better if you eat meat!" So we ate yakiniku and went home. And then the next morning when I woke up you were like, "I'm going to the doctor." (laugh)
H: I seriously thought I was going to die then. (laugh) My fever was close to 39 degrees.
B: It was, in fact, the flu. (laugh)
H: But Bunichi-kun didn't catch it. (laugh) You've got too much immunity! (laugh)
B: But because of that, I was forcibly deported back home. (laugh) That was bad. It was like, "Why'd it have to be this timing?" (laugh)
H: We know each other's families, too.
B: We do. We've already done our greetings.2 (laugh)
H: In my case, it's not just my parents, but even my niece loves you. She's only in elementary school, but she's saying that in the future she'll marry you.
B: Though apparently there was a time when some other celebrity had surpassed me. (laugh) It's okay now?
H: It's okay. You're making a comeback. And I often went to your house, too. So I've already greeted your family, too. But for whatever reason, no matter how many times I'd been there, it was just the dog that didn't like me. Why is that?
B: I dunno. Ask the dog. (laugh)
H: Ahh, how nostalgic. We've got a lot of memories together. Let's make some time to hang out together again. Recently, I've formed the "Hamada-gundan"3 with Ryusei and Kotaki. I want you to join. Though our activities consist of going to cafes and then watching movies together. (laugh)
B: Oh, I think that'd fit me, too. Though are you writing movie reviews properly? If you're calling them activities, you need to do at least that much. (laugh)
H: Got it. I'll put it up on J-Web sometime, then. (laugh) In return, you participate in Hamada-gundan, too, okay? (laugh) And I want to do a talk like this again.
B: Sure. I welcome it whenever.

Notes:
1. Ahosuki used to be a weekday show, and Hama-chan was one of the Friday regulars from 2009-2012.
2. He talks about it like the greeting given to a partner's family before marriage.
3. 軍団 gundan means "army corps". A good translation might be the "Hamada Troop".
